Be prepared to wake up to views of a lifetime — all our rooms afford stunning vistas of fjord-like Kootenay Lake and the soaring, snowcapped Purcell Range. Luxuriate in your cozy bed while watching the sunrise over the peaks before joining us for breakfast (seasonal/$35/person, reservations required when booking) graced by produce picked from our organic garden. Sentinel meals are lovingly prepared — we’ll do our best to suit your nutritional needs. 

The Property

Our beautiful 5.6-acre property sits on the serene shores of Kootenay Lake, BC, just 7km up the road from the picturesque village of Kaslo.  We boast 8 luxury rooms, sauna, cedar-lined hot tub, sunroom, and the enchanting Maloca, our round timber-framed gathering space.

Getting Here

We’re an hour and 30 minutes from the Castlegar airport, which is only a short 60-minute flight from Vancouver or Calgary. PractiCar Rental has vehicles for rent at the airport (250) 365-1980.  If you choose to drive to The Sentinel, the trip takes about 8.5 hours from Vancouver, and 7.5 hours from Calgary — both routes are absolutely spectacular! We’re happy to suggest great stops along the way if you choose to road trip.

Coffee and tea are available all day — a delicious breakfast can be added for $25 per person (Seasonal). If you have any questions or requests, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Any bookings made 6 months out or farther, The Sentinel reserves the right to cancel the reservation or book another date.

Cancellation Policy

A $75 Cancellation Fee will be applied to all cancellations.
