Hygge” is a Scandinavian concept. It’s a way of life — to be “hyggelig” is all about taking the time and creating the space to fully enjoy life’s simple pleasures, sharing good food, drink, music, conversation, and quiet time with family and friends, without undue fuss & muss. There’s a reason why Denmark, Norway, and Sweden so often register as among the happiest nations on earth! Hygge makes such sense, it has become an accepted word in the Oxford English Dictionary.

Think of it as the act of being cozy, a particularly appealing notion as the days grow shorter, the nights longer, the chill deeper. Coziness — in the form of lovely music and compelling storytelling unfolding in the candlelit magic of the Sentinel’s beautiful timber frame Maloca, as well as a yummy bowl of chili (strictly limited to 20 diners! — is precisely what you can expect to experience Saturday, November 30.

Dinner starts at six o’clock, followed by an evening of songs and stories featuring award-winning actress and storyteller Shayna Jones, and highly touted singer-songwriter Carly Dow.

“Hygge” — a Winter’s Eve at the Sentinel — promises to gently, cozily, usher you into the coming holiday season. Be sure to get or reserve your tickets now, as both dinner spots and seating are limited!
