In memory of Brendan Djentle Bear Hamilton

This scholarship is a tribute to our beloved brother, Brendan Hamilton, one of our first and most foundational and influential inspirations for this entire endeavour. A true ‘walker of his talk’, Brendan led his life with his bold and tender heart forward and he held his hand outstretched towards every man that he encountered who sought a way to rise into his truest potential. We are honoured to have kept the company of this beautiful man as we cultivated the very essence of this retreat offering as he helped us to shape and grow the heart and soul of the true Awakening Man; the one that is dawning within our collective spirit.

This scholarship honours the modern journey of men; the often hard fought battle with silent struggles, ancestral traumas and disconnections from true alignment within community, family and right relationship. This scholarship honours the virtues that are found at the foundation of every Awakening Man; the virtues of integrity, authenticity, and humility. The acceptance of true abundance. The recognition of self-responsibility and the gifts that are possible to share once this has been acknowledged. The courage to claim one’s place in the hoop of life and stand as a leader that reveals his power through his example— an example that is set through his actions that are made with deep consideration for his family, his friends, his community, his planet. This scholarship honours the necessary healing that is required for the men of today to rise into a united band of brothers that protect tomorrow and feed this world with love, compassion, humour and wisdom that enriches the soils of hungry souls, yearning for someone real to guide them.

This scholarship awards full access to the Men’s Retreat Program hosted annually at the Sentinel in Kaslo, BC.
