Maasa Craig

My canvas is a mirror reflecting my internal terrain. Every layer of the painting reveals aspects of myself that I may choose to change or cherish. I paint as a practice of mindfulness to maintain a healthy relationship with myself. It is a constant practice of love and forgiveness.  Innate wisdom transmits from my heart and is expressed through my hands which informs my mind. I paint with intention and without a destination. The medicine is in what is revealed.
I believe that change occurs when we become conscious of how we are operating.  So much of our deeply rooted patterns from our past is stored in our subconscious. For healing to occur I believe it has to be accessed and made conscious via nonlinear means.  In my process, the non- analytical creative mind is the access point.  My creation becomes the artifact of the healing that has been done.  As inherently creative beings, perhaps we have the ability to utilize creativity to spark new circuits of possibility.
