Clown Medicine Workshop
With Dr. Megan Hyslop
July 19, 2025
Come explore Clown Medicine at The Sentinel!
Time: 10:00-6:00pm
Clown medicine in an ancient, world wide form of creative play with others through authentic impulse. Think of playing freely like you could as a child, or the way you would have liked to play. This is the feeling of clowning. It is about radical self acceptance and the freedom that comes when we embrace all that we are and all that we feel. We practice removing our social masks and being seen in our fullness. Humour comes from this kind of radical honesty and exaggeration of what is! Clowning finds the game in the pure presence of the everyday. I specialize in working with people who struggle with more shy, depressive, or anxious ways of being.
In this play shop, you’ll have the opportunity to have experiences of:
- Noticing and following authentic impulses. This is a way to have a more whole relationship with ourselves and to have access to the wisdom and physical expression of those parts.
- Humour that comes from honestly being with and exaggerating what is
- Play that opens you to your natural silliness in the kind company of others
- Nurturance that comes from deeply seeing others and being seen
- Participate by choice according to your comfort edge
- Get a glimpse into your clown nature
